Banko Gotiti is the name of a coffee washing station in Gedeb that works to support local small-holders and provide high-quality processing for local coffees. Most of the cherry that arrives at this station is forest tended, meaning producers prune and harvest coffee plants that are growing wild in forested areas nearby. Other small-holders tend coffee plants in the gardens near their homes, yielding small amounts of cherry to contribute. Without communal washing stations to aggregate the cherry - many of these small holders wouldn't be able to connect with the specialty market, but companies like SNAP Coffee have adapted their expertise the former Ethiopian Coffee Exchange to create opportunities for these coffees to be processed to a high standard locally and sold as a traceable lot representative of the local area.

This natural coffee is giving us plenty of sweetness - both from a juicy strawberry note and a more mellow honey-like note. Natural coffees are usually pretty sweet, but we haven't come across many that exhibit their sweetness is a smoother profile like this cup. There's a lovely floral quality as well that makes brewing a joy - we'd really recommend giving the grounds a sniff before you pour to get the whole experience. Overall we think this coffee is a great option for those that want the sweetness of a natural without some of the brighter acidity that usually accompanies - it's a really unique cup and one we hope you love!

Good Coffee, but uniquely non-acidic

Very floral/honey smell but the taste is perhaps too subtle for my palate. I am enjoying it nonetheless. I prefer higher acidity than this coffee, which truly is very smooth.

Smooth, Fruity, and Honeylike Finish

This coffee has been great as a pour over. It has a very nice strawberry type accent, with a light to medium body and not so much acidity. It is a quite a smooth brew. I also get a bit of creamy accent with a very nice honey flavor. This coffee has a wonderful finish to it.

If your Ethiopian coffee came with a dimmer switch

A delicious, jammy coffee with a cool story about how the locals forage for these berries to create a communal cup. Kinda messed with my head, too, because my tongue had me bracing for an acidic punch that never landed. Perfect for a relaxing morning or days when you only need enough oomph get things done around the house.

Juicy and delicious

I wasn’t sure I’d like an Ethiopian since my favorites have always been Costa Rican or geisha varieties. Really enjoying the juiciness!

Best Natural I've ever had!

We usually aren't a fan of natural coffees but this was amazing. Very tasty. Already looking forward to the morning cup tomorrow.

Meh

A bit underwhelming to be honest, it was pretty mild and didn’t impress.

Bitter but tasty!

Loved this coffee! Not one we’d have week after week because it is so acidic, but a good and welcome change up from the usual.

Oh Yeah

Could drink this everyday. The beans have a fragrant smell which carries over when brewed. Another Ethiopian hit.

One of my favorites

I've been a bi-weekly subscriber since 2017 and this was probably my favorite roast yet. Thanks Moustache!
