The Vario is a great prosumer grinder for manual brew and espresso.

The Vario is capable of grinding from coarse all the way down to espresso, all the while providing great consistency and quality. It's got a compact form factor and the build quality is excellent, with durable ceramic burrs.

It differs from the Vario-W by offering only time-based grinding as opposed to the weight-based grinding in the Vario-W. The convenience of the weight-based grinding cannot be understated, but if you're looking to save $80 and still want a high-end grinder (you probably already have a scale anyway) then the Vario is hard to beat.
