This exceptional lot of washed Bourbon coffee was processed at the Nkaka station by Minani Balthazar and was included in Burundi's 2018 Cup of Excellence auction. We're honored to have placed the winning bid to secure this exceptional coffee for the Tasting Series, and we can't wait for you all to experience its stand-out flavors. The mill's name is derived from the local term for a gift or offering to a king, as the area was occupied by Belgium before Burundi won independence in 1962. The name is relevant now in a much more positive way, producing exceptional coffees like this that truly are fit for royalty.

One of our favorite things about this coffee is the balance it achieves - a harmonious mix of floral vanilla, savory dark chocolate, bright red cherry, and more. Each flavor note is distinct and fully rounded out, but they come together in a profile that works beautifully.
