Hoja Blanca is located in a high valley of Huehuetenango, Guatemala and is surrounded by small coffee farms in every direction. Altitudes in this region range from 1600-2000 meters above sea level, which returns a cooler year-round climate. The resulting coffees are very sweet due to the slow cherry maturation and loaded with fruit and complexity. Hoja Blanca was founded in the late 1950’s by Felipe Martinez and is now run by third and fourth generations of the founding family. Felipe laid the foundation for growing delicious coffee in a remote area without access to running water, electricity, or roads. It is hard not to appreciate the vision and hardwork laid down by the first generation of coffee growers in this region. We are humbled and excited to share these beans with the club.
This year's lot has a pleasant, milky body with notes of chocolate, caramel and brown spices. Complex, yet smooth and very drinkable. Cheers!

This is the epitome of classic coffee to me - chocolatey, creamy, rounded, with nice full body. I also love the caramel and baker's spice notes; it almost feels like desert, but without sweetness. Just a lovely cup, a pleasure to drink any time.
