Another season, another great coffee from Maria Damaris Medina's Santa Elena farm in Huila colombia. We've featured Maria's coffees for a few seasons now, and they're always a hit for the balance they strike between acidity and smoothness. Huila is a region that produces a lot of coffee - thanks to the weather and growing conditions they can harvest almost year-round, which means we'll have plenty of opportunities to keep featuring coffees from Santa Elena in the future, which we love!

For now - we're brewing up this lot, the first from Santa Elena is 2020. Like many of the other lots from Santa Elena that we've featured there's a good citrus acidity on the front-end balanced with a much smoother and more grounded chocolately body. We think relative to other years, this lot is especially rich and creamy, which makes a cup that's great to enjoy slowly. It's always fun to try coffees from the same producers year over year - to get a sense for how different coffee can taste based on processing and crop year. It's even better when all those lots are delicious - as is the case here. Enjoy!
