We're extremely excited to be bringing this year's lot of Geisha from our friends at El Socorro back to the Tasting Series! We've been buying incredible coffees from Mr. De la Cerda for years - and it's been great to see how his geisha project has found success and recognition in the larger specialty market. This year, a lot of Geisha from El Socorro won Guatemala's C.O.E. competition, making it the best coffee from Guatemala in 2020. We're very happy for Juan Diego, and proud that we were a year ahead of the curve in bringing his incredible Geisha to the club. His commitment to excellence continues - and we're very happy to feature this exemplary coffee for our most devoted coffee lovers.
A cup of El Socorro Geisha is truly exquisite - a coffee that exhibits delicate jasmine florals and juicy strawberry sweetness throughout. There's a lovely acidity as well - similar to grapefruit or bergamot, structured in its brightness without too much of a tart effect. Altogether it's an unforgettable coffee and a fantastic example of what Geisha can be when grown and processed to its full potential. As we brew, we're sending congratulations to everyone at El Socorro for the accolades this year - and our gratitude for the incredible coffees they've shared with us this season and years past!

I have always loved geisha coffee and this one does not disappoint. Very happy with this one. Thank you for bringing it in!

This is a nice coffee. The jasmine and strawberry notes shine through. Still, I found it a bit thin and lacking much punch. Maybe that’s just geisha; this is my first time trying it and the lack of body is a bit of an adjustment. It’s markedly better in my Chemex than in my v60. I definitely appreciate the complexity but enjoy it more as a curiosity than something I’d regularly drink.

Stupendous coffee. Not as light and delicate as I was expecting, given certain reviews. Complex and lively. One caveat: if you're not a fan of floral notes, this likely isn't the coffee for you.

I tend to the chocolatey, sweet coffees.
