We're very excited about this exquisite lot of pink bourbon! La Miel was included in the 2019 Colombia North Cup of Excellence auction - and we jumped at the opportunity to share it with our Tasting Series members. Producer Miguel Angel Botina Ceron is a second-generation coffee farmer in Huila, Colombia who has been producing specialty coffee for 10 years. He grows Typica and Caturra in addition to Pink Bourbon - and looks forward to bringing even more varietals into the specialty market. Pink Bourbon is one of the true coffee gems of the Huila region and as it becomes more popular and widely cultivated, we're glad to see that producers are continuing to process it with care and expertise. We're looking forward to more delicious Pink Bourbon lots in future years!

This coffee was wet processed in the traditional Colombian way, so the name La Miel (which translates to 'honey') is a reference to the incredible sweetness these beans produce. We're picking up on some really strong berry flavors, as well as a delicate black tea note. We can't get over the quality and clarity of the flavors coming out of these beans - which makes them a joy to brew every time. As far as Pink Bourbon is concerned, it doesn't get much better than this - so sit back and enjoy some of Huila's finest!

Very delicious!

I've had this coffee twice using a Moka pot and have really enjoyed it both times.

Glad to hear it! Wish I was confident enough in my moka pot skills to give this one a go - I'll bet it really opens up. :)
