Tasting Series: Lasso Geisha
Variety: Geisha
Processing: Washed
Origin: Narino, Colombia
Producers: Jeremias Lasso
Altitude: 1890m
In 2009, Geisha seedlings from Panama's legendary Hacienda La Esmeralda were brought to Colombia, where they were planted on Jeremias Lasso's farm in the Narino department. The precious seedlings took to their mountainous surroundings exceptionally well, and after several years of development, the first crop of Lasso's Geisha was harvested in 2017. Washed, fermented, and dried to exacting standards, these beans truly stand out among some of Colombia's best coffees.
Hacienda La Esmeralda put Geisha coffee on the map with its intense floral notes and clarity of flavor, and as a descendant of those plants, Lasso Geisha carries on these same qualities. A vibrant honeycomb note resonates throughout the cup, while zesty orange peel and candied lemon flavors provide the perfect amount of acidity to counter the airy floral tones without spoiling this cup's profound sweetness. Lasso Geisha is remarkable not only because of its history but for how well it has built upon that history to become a unique and delicious coffee in its own right. It's a joy to share such special crops with you, and we hope you enjoy.

This was easily the best coffee I have received from Moustache thus far. So delicious, full and fresh.

This coffee was everything I ever wanted. My only complaint was that there wasn’t enough!

Lasso Geisha! This was a lovely example of a Geisha coffee. I wanted to brew it more and more, until I was out of it! There is not much more to say -- it's a really lovely coffee!
