Yacuanquer is a small town in the Narino department of Colombia, just south of the Volcan Galeras. Several families in the region have been farming coffee on the land around the volcano for many years using traditional methods popular in Narino like parabolic drying beds. The volcano is relatively active and rises to almost 4300m, making the hillsides at its base the perfect location for fertile, well-draining volcanic soil and high-altitude growing conditions. Several small-holder families contributed their high-quality cherry to this lot, creating a unique flavor that's intimately tied to Volcan Galeras and the Yacuanquer area.

Right off the bat, we taste some delicious plum notes with a smooth sweetness and juicy quality. Aromatically, we noticed some hints of rose petal and other florals. (If you're brewing this one manually, we hope you take the time to stop and smell the roses during your bloom!) We also tasted a fun tropical fruit note along the lines of papaya or pineapple - that bright, tangy sweetness that contains a little acidity without being sharp or sour. This is just a super likable coffee any way you brew it, and we hope you feel the same way!

Smooth and refreshing

This is a beautiful, bright, flavorful coffee that is simultaneously smooth and (ok, I sound like a beer commercial) refreshing. Perfect for summer.

Columbia Doesn't Disappoint

Another very smooth cup from Columbia. Not a lot of acidity and not too fruity.

Slightly more acidic and citrusy than used to

Its has a nice mellow flavor but leaves you with citrus notes after taste. However subtle it is, its definitely a nice change from the norm. Not my preference for everyday drinking, but good to change it up for a lighter coffee choice.
