Huehuetenango is a coffee lover's paradise. The lush mountains are perfect for growing coffee plants and nearly everyone in the area is, with a huge range of varietals and processing methods represented. Many of the local small-holders combine their small crops of different varietals during processing to create exquisite and distinctive lots of coffee that you can't find anywhere else on earth. This particular Huehuetenango is one such lot, with Caturra, Typica, and Paches varietals coming together to produce an unusually rich and formidable taste. A robust chocolate note is the defining characteristic of this cup, with hints of cola spice and cherry contributing a little sweetness to this smooth coffee. The bold flavors in these beans make this lot a perfect candidate for our new Classic series. We hope you love it as much as we do!

Great cup

I really enjoyed this one. Low acidity and smooth dark chocolate taste. Made it in French Press first and it was a hit

best yet

this was probably one of my favorite coffee's so far. Loved the hints of coco and richness of body. I have fully automatic espresso machine and it made perfect crema this morning.

Great tasting cup!

Makes an excellent cup of coffee but not quite dark enough for an espresso (for me.) The richness and chocolate flavours came through well and is one of my favorite for a Chemex cup of coffee. However, I found the bright tones were forward in the more concentrated form of an espresso. Great crema though! Have to try in a French press as one reviewer did, I imagine it would be good.

By far my favorite so far

I'm really excited for the "Classic" profiles, because that's where my tastebuds have been trained. Lovely richness and chocolate. I only make espresso, and struggled a little to find the right recipe - even at an 18g load it still tasted a little thin, but yum. Maybe the grind needs to be even finer, but my bag is gone so I'll never know :-)

So delicious. One of my favorites yet. Very smooth, yet rich.
