Jaguara is the name of Andre Garcia's farm in Brazil - but Sean didn't see any jaguars while he was there. What he did see is plenty of delicious, high quality coffee grown with care and processed to exacting standards. Andre Garcia is an agronomist by trade, and has been utilizing his expertise with plant and soil science to get the most out of his farm. His cultivars are specifically selected to pair with the mineral balance in the soil, and he's adjusted his weed management and pruning schedule to prioritize longevity. The farm produces natural coffees dried on patios, and they've recently invested in African beds to continue increasing drying quality with future crops. On Sean's trip to Brazil, this was one of the coffees that jumped off the table and we're very happy it's arrived stateside!
Jaguara produces several varietals, but this lot is 100% Yellow Catuai. We're picking up on some bright and juicy apricot notes, as well as a cane sugar flavor that keeps the sweetness front-and-center. A citrus-like note gives the brew a nice acidity without being too tart, lining up well with the otherwise fruity and sweet profile. This coffee exhibits a particularly tropical feel - like it was grown specifically to be enjoyed on a summer vacation. We think it's a great introduction to our slate of Brazilian coffees - bold, vibrant, exciting brews that deliver big on unique flavors. Enjoy!

Really like this one. The MCC tasting notes of apricot and sugar seem spot on. However, Jaguara has a backbone too, and won't leave you floating off with high notes. Stonefruit, cane sugar, and underlying roastiness. I could drink this one every day.

Smooth coffee with good flavor. Seems to taste like a darker roast however and a bit too acidic for my taste.

I cannot rate coffees. All I can say is whether I like them more or less than others. This one is almost -- but not quite -- as awesome as the Fazenda Juquinha. Similar exciting flavor profile, but not quite as exciting. Easy to drink, but not quite as easy. It's tough having favorites, since everything else is not. But this is a fine substitute.
