Francisco Martin bought the land known as La Colmenita (the Beehive) in 2002 with one goal: to farm the highest quality coffee possible. Since then he's been investing heavily in quality farming and processing equipment, taking extreme care to properly plant and tend his coffee trees. He separates all his lots by hand, and dries them slowly on patios that he built on the roof of his home so that we can check on them frequently. This obsessive care for coffee yields really tasty flavors that we can't wait to share with you!
La Colmenita is a very sweet cup, primarily defined by its caramel and tangerine notes. The sweetness of the caramel matches up nicely with the citrus flavor to create a smooth, drinkable cup with a hint of spice and a great silky body. A note of plum on the back end provides a bit of earthiness to this brew, while still falling in-line with the overall sweetness that this cup exhibits. La Colmenita is a cohesive, well-composed coffee that we can't get enough of. We hope you enjoy it too!
